Sitting at a cafe one day, I got thinking about what successful people do that others do not around achieving goals. We say we want to be successful; however there are times when things hold us back. Ourselves, fear, situations, change, or perhaps we are working on something so huge that in turn it holds back our success.

A big part of many of our decisions on whether or not to change is based on fear. There are times where it is our limited beliefs. What is holding us back can be their fear around those beliefs. For example if our fear is change then perhaps changing one thing could change our lives but just knowing that is enough to keep us from moving forward to the next level. We tell ourselves so many things to at times negate us from moving forward. Understanding if the beliefs you are having are real or imagined can lead into many insights on what the truth for you is, and possibly what your true real purpose is. So what does it take to find out your beliefs and if they are holding you back?

Focus….

The Power of Focus can be incredible and can lead to great success. So while I believe that women have a special gift of networking and relationship building, I believe that one of a man’s strength that I often see is in the gift of focus that I believe we can learn from.

So take time to focus on what is limiting your belief system. Look to experts to help you get past those blocks be it a hypnotist or a guide you can work with to look into deep rooted beliefs that may be holding you back. Once you have focused in on those items and conquer them through persistence and good habits, you will then find your own truth and path. Enjoying the process is the best part because you will learn so much about yourself along the way.

WANT TO USE THIS ARTICLE IN YOUR E-ZINE OR WEB SITE?
Having realistic views of what makes us happy, what your true strengths are and to learn how you can contribute in a positive way, will help bring you to see the world differently. An example of this can be found in the old cartoon of Charlie Brown.

I read an article once about this by Gary Woltal who is a realtor in Dallas Ft. Worth. His story goes like this. Attachment to an idea has to do with the expectation of what he calls The Lucy -Charlie Brown Effect. The one where Charlie Brown continuously attaches to the fact that he “thinks” Lucy will hold the football and that he will kick it. However as Gary points out, and as we saw repeatedly, Lucy in fact did NOT let Charlie Brown kick the ball.

Now, you can get from this that Lucy (in her defense) at least made a solid decision and stuck to it. Or you could say that Charlie Brown has an unrealistic grip on what he was attached to which was his “expectation” that the ball would be held in place so that he could kick it. Regardless of why Charlie Brown had that expectation and if it was truth or not, the end result was that Charlie Brown was unhappy after he missed the ball. What caused his unhappiness? The death grip he had on that expectation.

So the lesson? To be truly happy with life by being a bit detached from our expectations. Being in the present and having fun with it and “let it roll” as Louise Hay says. Understand what makes you happy but be willing to adjust to your environment positively. Know what your strengths are, and believe that no matter what is happening in the world markets that there is TRUE change happening in the world and be open to that, because there are many miracles happening out there.

Now is the time to re-evaluate how you are running your businesses, what steps you are taking during this time of change. Keep taking those “Baby Steps” towards your goal and success. Work with people who motivate you to move forward and take action! (This is by the way another benefit Charlie Brown got from Lucy- MOTIVATION!) The other message of Charlie Brown and what kept him going was that he believed that he could kick the ball and that in the end was better than not trying at all.
